We're HOOMME!

We have had a great few days away & I have taken a few hundred photos - gotta love digital cameras!!!! So will do a few posts over the next couple of days.

Cam had his trial tryathlon on Saturday after 4 days of training. A lazy trainer was how they referred to him..... needed lots of encouragement, and people running with him to get him to the training - but on the day he did great. Didn't finish last - which made him happy and ended up coming in front of one of the kids who beat him out of the water, so a good result. Took just over 32 minutes, so now we have an idea of how long the actual event should take as well - although there will be about 200 times as many kids there!!!

After lunch we headed out to Raglan. We were staying at the end of Lorenzen Bay Road - in fact you couldn't get any more to the end! This is the view from the deck, and yes that is the only driveway....
I was VERY glad the tide was out when we arrived, but a bit worried about how far it was going to come in when we went out later! However it was not a problem & the car never got wet.

After we had unpacked and settled in, we headed down to the camping ground to catch up with Liz & Steve - they are trainers at the gym we go to and also used to take Cam for martial arts. Cam was invited to sleep over with them in their caravan, they have a daughter about the same age as Cam and a couple of older children and we were happy to let him stay - especially when it appeared to be a trade....... This......
for Cam... Fair Trade! Fresh snapper and gurnard - yum! However, when we took Cam's bag down to him later in the evening, we discovered they intended to return him the following day! Ah well..... It may have had something to do with his rediscovered love for mussles at dinner time! Nevertheless they kept him for the evening and Rob & I enjoyed some time with L & D, but that will have to be tomorrows post as I am off to sleep!!!! nothing like your own bed - especially when you do not have to share it with a coughing, wriggling, sleep talking little person - but that too will be another post!
